Ray Niles, P.S.M., President
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying in 1981 from the University of Florida, and more than 20 years in the Profession, Mr. Niles provides a great foundation for the firm. He administers all of the services that DeGrove provides, including project assignments, QA/QC, and submittal requirements.
As Chief Surveyor with DeGrove, Mr. Niles has been involved with numerous boundary, topographic, hydrographic and wetlands surveys and has directed survey activities for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Hazard Studies in Duval, Marion, Manatee, Charlotte, Putnam, Orange, Pinellas, Lake, Collier, Palm Beach, Osceola and Polk Counties in Florida and Dorchester County, South Carolina. Additionally, he has completed work for the following Federal and State Agencies: U.S. Navy, National Park Service, Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection, Florida HRS and Florida Dept. of Transportation.
Mr. Niles is also a member of the following organizations: The Hydrographic Society of America, Florida Surveying and Mapping Society, American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, National Society of Professional Surveyors, & the Northeast Florida Builders Assoc.
Tom Tracz, P.S.M., Vice-President
Mr. Tracz has managed numerous boundary and topographic surveys and Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Hazard Studies in Manatee, Charlotte and Putnam Counties in Florida and Dorchester County, South Carolina. He has completed hazardous waste health and safety training and has performed boundary and topographic surveys on several hazardous waste sites, including a Superfund site in Northeast, FL. Mr. Tracz manages our Gainesville office.
Mr. Tracz has an Associate Degree: Land Surveying Technology, 1982, from Fort Steilacom Community College, Tacoma, Washington, and is a member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society.
Russell Smith, P.S.M., Senior Surveyor
Mr. Smith is a highly experienced land surveyor with a background of 30 years in all aspects of the business. He plays a key role in both the supervision and review of work in areas such as route surveys, boundary, topographic, cellular tower sites, elevation surveys for St. Johns River Water Management District and FEMA. Mr. Smith has an Associate of Science Degree from South Georgia College, 1969 and is a member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society and The Hydrographic Society of America.
Randy Tompkins, P.S.M., Project Manager
Mr. Tompkins joined DeGrove 1999 after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Geomatics from the University of Florida. Mr. Tompkins has been project manager on numerous large boundary surveys for the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection, cross section topographic surveys for the St. Johns River Water Management District, Route & Boundary Surveys for JEA and St. Johns County, and extensive Cemetery Projects for Design, Planning, Pinning QA/QC. Mr. Tompkins is a member of The Hydrographic Society of America, Florida Surveying and Mapping Society, American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, and National Society of Professional Surveyors.
Jana England, Office Manager
Joined the Company in May 2004, replacing Ms. Jeanette Henderson when she retired after 26 years. Handles day to day office duties such as Accounts Payable/Receivables and Payroll.
